Nemer
Martha Case Nemer is a Nashville-based intuitive artist known for expressive work that blends contemporary whimsy with abstract figurative storytelling. Her vibrant paintings - filled with color, movement and personality, celebrate the beauty, humor and joyful imperfections of everyday life.
Creativity has always been part of Martha's story. She has been drawing and doodling for as long as she can remember - often across school notes, restaurant tablecloths and just about any available scrap of paper.
After a 25-year career in luxury fashion, she followed that lifelong creative calling and became a full-time artist in 2013.
Largely self-taught, Martha works primarily in acrylic and mixed media, layering paint, oil pastel, charcoal and ink to create richly textured, highly expressive pieces. Her subjects range from abstract figure and faces to florals, angels and bold abstractions.
Guided by instinct rather than rules, she describes her process as "creating lots of beautiful messes along the way."
Martha draws inspiration from her family, friends, community and the unexpected moments that make life meaningful. Painting is more than a profession for her - it is a joyful necessity and her most natural form of self-expression.
Her original artwork can be found in private collections, galleries, businesses and distinctive spaces across the country.
Whether playful, reflective or quietly uplifting, each piece is created with the hope that it will bring energy, connection and a little more happiness into the world.
